Project Information

Ziv Gallery is a multidisciplinary cultural space in São Paulo’s Batman Alley, bringing together art, music, exhibitions, performances, and nightlife. Located in Vila Madalena, one of the city’s most vibrant neighborhoods for urban art, the gallery reflects the area’s rich and constantly evolving cultural energy.

Ziv Flash is a custom typeface created exclusively for Ziv Gallery, designed for headlines, signage, and graphic elements. Drawing inspiration from the stencil language found throughout the city’s urban art scene, the typeface also responds to the architectural forms of Ziv Gallery, translating the building’s distinctive geometry into a sharp, concise, and expressive typographic system.

Rather than functioning solely as a typeface, Ziv Flash operates as a flexible modular system—moving between language and abstract geometric form. Its precisely constructed shapes allow individual characters to connect and recombine, generating new relationships between positive and negative space. As letters come together, unexpected graphic compositions emerge, allowing the typography to become an artwork in its own right.

Through Ziv Flash, Ziv Gallery establishes a distinctive visual voice within the visually saturated landscape of Batman Alley. Surrounded by an ever-changing collection of artistic expressions, the gallery transforms its own identity into that of an artist—bold, recognizable, and unmistakably its own.
